Frequently Asked Questions
Computer user
We are not happy with our current I.T. support company but they know our system. How difficult is it to become familiar with our network and systems? Anchor Technology has programs/tools and methods to document an existing network of PC Workstations, servers, printers etc.  We absorb some of the time to become familiar with your basic network to make it economical for you.   We regularly have new customer’s that we document their system so we can support them. Do you have to come on-site for all technical services? No.  A large portion of the work we do is via phone and remote access. We normally install a secure firewall appliance to protect your network and allow us to remote access your system for faster less expensive service as well as for your remote users. Why write customer applications? Why not use off the shelf software? Our first choice is to use general or industry specific programs if available.  However many of our customers have very specific requirements and developing a custom application is what they asked for. Do you Service Equipment? Yes.  We primarily service all hardware for PC Workstations and Servers that we sell.  Many of of our customer’s use servers we provide for “mission critical applications” and have a fix rate service agreement that includes parts, labor, travel time and stocking parts for low downtime. In the course of I.T. work we provide technical support i.e windows support but do not service all pc’s. We also have certain specific equipment we “spare up” for on a contractual basis for certain customers. Do you offer connectivity between our offices? Yes.  We have been fortunate to provide I.T. services to growing companies that have expanded by opening new locations but requiring connectivity.  This has become a speciality niche for us. Years ago we used point to point leased lines. For several years we have used VPN (virtual private networks) that use the Internet backbone for high speed connectivity.  We have customers for example that have locations in Tulsa, OK, Oklahoma City, OK, Wichita, KS, Springfield, MO, Springdale, AR, etc. We provide remote and on-site services to all of these locations.
